The Problem In Montana

Each year, approximately 2,200 Montana children enter foster care due to abuse, neglect, or family crisis—and many face a heartbreaking cycle of instability that follows them into adulthood. Rooted Families equips Montana churches to break this cycle by launching Family Advocacy Ministries that transform compassion into action, helping vulnerable children find the safe, loving families they desperately need.

Our Solution

Rooted makes it unbelievably easy for local church communities to come alongside child welfare agencies to change this cycle of family breakdown through a step-by-step model called Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs). The FAM model allows the local church to creating a place for everyone to get involved in transforming Montana into the best place to be a child. This model brings about a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children.

what we do

Our Mission

Churches

We equip local congregations across Montana to launch and sustain Family Advocacy Ministries that make a lasting difference in their communities. Through training, resources, and ongoing coaching, we help churches transform their compassion for vulnerable children into practical, life-changing action.

Vulnerable Children

We focus on the approximately 2,200 Montana children who enter the child welfare system each year, many facing trauma that follows them into adulthood without intervention. Our church-based approach helps connect these children with safe, stable families and supportive communities that can break the cycle of instability.

Families In Crisis

We support foster families, kinship caregivers, and biological families navigating difficult circumstances by connecting them with trained church communities ready to help. Whether providing respite care, practical resources, or simply walking alongside them during hard times, we ensure families don’t face crisis alone.

Rooted is built on 3 Pillars

Preserve Families

We work to prevent children from entering foster care by strengthening biological families before crisis hits.

Through evidence-based parenting curriculum and practical support from local churches, we help families build stability and develop the skills they need to stay together.

Support Families

We surround foster, adoptive, and at-risk families with volunteer care teams that provide hands-on help when it’s needed most.

These church-led support teams offer everything from meals and respite care to emotional encouragement, ensuring no family faces crisis alone.

Connect Families

We help children find permanent families through reunification support and adoption assistance led by local churches.

By equipping churches to guide families through the reunification and adoption process, we help vulnerable children experience the lasting love and stability of a forever family.
